On what day was Yahusha crucified?

stumbling block

Saturday Sabbatarians love to argue that the crucifixion occurred on a Wednesday in the year Yahusha was crucified. The fact that it was on different days in different years, does not matter. It is only the year He died in, that counts, they say.

On which Gregorian days did the crucifixion take place?

When we go by the 14th day on the lunar/solar calendar:

2019 Wednesday
2020 Wednesday
2021 Saturday
2022 Friday
2023 Wednesday
2024 Sunday

Saturday Sabatarians say:
Yahusha died Wednesday afternoon
In the grave Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
Rose from the grave Sunday.

This gives you: In the grave – Thursday, Friday, Saturday the whole day.
In the grave – Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night.
He rose from the grave sometime Saturday night and was discovered as risen the Sunday morning.

So, it is 3 days and 3 nights. According to Saturday Sabatarians.

They further argue that the High Sabbath is Pesach or ULB and not the weekly Shabbath. That Yahusha had to be in the grave before sundown on Wednesday, as on Wednesday evening the high Shabbath starts and ends the Thursday evening. Friday evening the weekly Shabbath started and lasted till Saturday evening.

What does scripture tell us?

Joh 19:31  The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Note that John does not say ‘before dark’.

That Yahusha was crucified on the 14th day.  (As per Pesach in Exodus and Leviticus)
No-where do we read about two Sabbaths in one week? A High Sabbath is simply a feast day that falls on a Shabbat. (one exception: Day of Atonement)

Pay attention to the day numbers here:
According to their analogy, this had to be the Wednesday(14th day according to scripture ), and He was in the grave Thursday(High Sabbath)(15th), Friday(16th), and Saturday(weekly Sabbath)(17th) the whole day.
He was discovered risen the Sunday morning, the 18th day.

Scripture says He was discovered and risen on the first day of the week. That begs the question, is the 18th day the first day of the week?

Scripture shows us many times, Shabbat is on the 8,15,22,29th day of the month. That makes the first day of the week the 2,9,16,23rd day of the month. So we know the 18th is not the 1st day of the week, the 16th day is the first day of the week.

We see in scripture, that Yahusha said He will rise on the third day.
14th Crucified
15th Grave
16th Risen on the third day.

Just as He said.

We see in scripture, that Yahusha said He will rise on the third day.
14th Crucified
15th Grave
16th Risen on the third day.
